NYCC - 'Greatest Hits'

Hot on the heels of their cooking dance version of the Beastie Boys classic 'Fight For Your Right (To Party)' comes NYCC's (debut?) album. It is titled 'Greatest Hits', but, as with our own Honeymoon Suites, this could just be a show of optimism. This is 90's hip-hop that has been hanging out a little too closely with 70's disco but the result is an album that will drive your party for the best part of an hour, with few complaints from the dance floor.

AC/DC's 'Highway To Hell', Queen's 'We Will Rock You' and LL Cool J's 'I Need Love' get the NYCC funky makeover here alongside the fizzy 'Hip Hop In The House' and megaphone vocals and slinky groove of 'We Are NYCC'.

If this ten-track album is reasonably priced then it's worth checking out. If not, then either find the excellent 'Fight For Your Right' single or wait for it to appear on one of those chart compilations.
