About the presenter

My start in radio was with a small campus radio station at what was then known as “RAU”. I auditioned on a whim and was actually taken on as a DJ in early 2004. During the next two years the “little station that could” had a couple of temporary broadcast licenses and the radio bug had bitten.

Initially presenting four shows a week, I decided to specialize in Classic Rock and other genre’s of music that other stations were paying little attention to and so the seeds of “Odds & Ends” were sown. Initially dubbed “Big Tracks” these aired twice a week from 21:00 – 24:00 and because of the specializes nature were reduced to a twice weekly affair. Jürgen Becker

Mid 2006, my tenure at what had become UJFM came to an end (suppose that was bound to happen, had to graduate sometime). And 1485 Radio Today has become the new home of “Big Tracks” although in a slightly different form and new name “Odds & Ends”!

The show

Odds & Ends is a show where you may hear anything from Amy Winehouse to Warren Zevon, both new and old tracks from almost every genre. If you’re into Classic Rock, Americana, Roots Music, Folk or the Blues (to name a few), chances are, you might hear something you enjoy. Odds & Ends is all about “Music without Prejudice”, if it’s good, I’ll be likely to play it! This show is really a “mixed bag” a musical lucky-packet…

So tune in every Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 24:00 and 01:00 and join me for a rollicking good time, exploring some familiar tracks and discovering a whole lot of new ones!
